Thanks for joining us on this journey of building a consistent habit of reading our Bibles every day. The Bible reading plan we are using this year can be found here: One Year Bible or here on the Bible app. As always, if you miss a day, don’t feel compelled to go back and catch up. Just skip it and start back on today’s date. I am reading the NLT this year, but feel free to use whatever version you prefer. Now here are some thoughts from today’s readings:

I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
– Genesis 9:13

God showed Noah a sign that He would keep His promises. That sign is still visible to us today because God is still, after thousands of years, in the promise keeping business. You can imagine that, after what they experienced during the great flood, the rainbow brought comfort to them every time they saw it.

What are your favorite promises in the Bible? What has God spoken to you? Every time you see a rainbow, remember that God is faithful. He didn’t fail Noah or his family and He won’t fail you or yours! We serve a God who can be trusted. The rainbow wasn’t just for Noah, it was a sign to you today that God is a promise keeper and you can take Him at His word!
