Day 24

Read: 2 Samuel 6:1-23

Key Verses: 2 Sam 6:12-14

Thoughts: It’s very true that everyone’s personality is different, therefore our general modes of worship are different. Some people enjoy scream, jumping, and dancing, some just lifting their hands and singing, and others enjoy just closing their eyes and focusing in on God. NONE of these are wrong ways to worship God. In fact, I have discovered in my life, that I experience God better, stay better focused, and grow in the Lord better when I engaged in all these types of worship.

If you are a jumper and shouter, try worshiping God by standing still, being quiet, and worship God on the inside. If you are more reserved person, find a place where you can get alone and dance a little and sing at the top of your lungs. Both can be equally life changing!

Are you stuck in one mode of worship? What keeps you from quieting yourself before the Lord or getting overjoyed and dancing wildly?

Quote: “Many Spirit-filled authors have exhausted the thesaurus in order to describe God with the glory He deserves. His perfect holiness, by definition, assures us that our words can’t contain Him. Isn’t it a comfort to worship a God we cannot exaggerate?” – Francis Chan

Prayer: God, please forgive me for worshiping only in ways that are comfortable to me. Help me to experience You in all modes of worship this week. Please lead me into radical, intimate encounters with You this week!
