Thanks for joining us on this journey of building a consistent habit of reading our Bibles every day. The Bible reading plan we are using this year can be found here: One Year Bible or here on the Bible app. As always, if you miss a day, don’t feel compelled to go back and catch up. Just skip it and start back on today’s date. I am reading the NLT this year, but feel free to use whatever version you prefer. Now here are some thoughts from today’s readings:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.
– Matthew 13:44
Matthew 13 tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure a man finds in a field. It’s so valuable that he sells everything he owns to go buy that field. That’s a picture of what should happen in our lives when we accept Christ. Its all of me for all of Him.
Sometimes we fail to explain what it truly means to give your life to Christ. It’s more than asking God to watch out for you, to be your friend, or to be on your priority list. It’s about giving God everything. It’s about selling all and giving it all to Him. After all, He is a treasure worth everything we have! So let’s not do God a disservice by giving Him less than everything we have. What ever you’re holding back, it’s not worth it. The treasure in the field is what we’re after, and it costs nothing less than everything we are!
What have you been holding back that you need to give to God?
