Thanks for joining us on this journey of building a consistent habit of reading our Bibles every day. The Bible reading plan we are using this year can be found here: One Year Bible or here on the Bible app. As always, if you miss a day, don’t feel compelled to go back and catch up. Just skip it and start back on today’s date. I am reading the NLT this year, but feel free to use whatever version you prefer. Now here are some thoughts from today’s readings:

If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept correction, you will be honored.
‭‭- Proverbs‬ ‭13:18‬

Criticism is hard for all of us. If it was easy, we wouldn’t get so upset, would we? When we lack discipline (which we all do at times), we open the door for poverty and shame in our lives. We open the door to making poor decisions and wasting our lives away.

On the other hand, if we will listen to those who are trying to spur us on and call us to a higher level of discipline, the Bible promises that will bring us honor. Let me ask you a few questions: What disciplines are you neglecting today? What are these lack of disciplines costing you? Will you regard this reproof’ today, and take a least one step toward being more disciplined in at least one area of your life?

To heed or not to heed, that is the question. So, where are you going to step it up at?
