Thanks for joining us on this journey of building a consistent habit of reading our Bibles every day. The Bible reading plan we are using this year can be found here: One Year Bible or here on the Bible app. As always, if you miss a day, don’t feel compelled to go back and catch up. Just skip it and start back on today’s date. I am reading the NLT this year, but feel free to use whatever version you prefer. Now here are some thoughts from today’s readings:

“These instructions are not empty words—they are your life! By obeying them you will enjoy a long life in the land you will occupy when you cross the Jordan River.”
‭‭- Deuteronomy‬ ‭32:47

It is your life. The word of God is not meant to be a good book to add to our reading list. It’s not a devotional, a guide book, a how to manual, a sacred religious text, or a collection of stories. The Bible only truly works as intended when we make it our life.

The Bible becomes your life when you do 3 things. First, spend time reading and studying it everyday. For me, it helps to make it the first thing I do in the morning. With technology today, you can listen to Bible for free as well, so there’s really no excuse not to. Second, accept it’s authority in your life. It’s helpful to remember that our lives don’t help us interpret the Bible. The Bible helps us interpret our lives.  Third, let it push you to Jesus. Don’t understand something? Pray. Got questions? Pray. Didn’t have time to read today? Pray.

If one of these isn’t true about your life, ask the Lord to help you make it true! The Bible will then go from being idle in your life to becoming your life, and that’s where God is trying to get all of us to. Want to know God’s will for you life? You’ll find it in the Bible. Make it your life and it will make your life what God created it to be.

How are you going to make the Bible your life?
