When You Blow It – Ex. 34:1

Such a good word! So many of us go around weighed down by our own mistakes,we can’t fix things on our own! We need to learn to forgive ourselves for mistakes! Some times as Christians we can forgive others but, find it hard to forgive ourselves. I love your point about God not always doing things the same way,it is so important to always seek the Lord again, instead of trying to go back and just do the same thing again, thinking that will fix everything! Good Word Pastor Chris
You’re right Kim. Forgiving ourselves is a big obstacle. I practice forgiving myself out loud all the time. It is really quite freeing!
I know that i struggle with this. I know in my brain that God forgives and is ready to move on but i have a very hard time of forgiving myself i guess. Then its like it just builds up till your just buried, and I have no idea which way to go or where to start again.
Great word Chris. Many times we feel so guilty when we blow it that we think God has left us. We think we can get Him back by proving to Him how good we are. He is there for us, not because of what we do, but what He has done.
The best we can be is a zero; but a smart zero gets as close as possible to the only Holy 1.
Failure can cause us to shrink into a cowardly position, even fearing that God hates us. God loves us with a perfect love, and that perfect love casts out fear. My mind cannot always accept that, however the working of the Holy Spirit within me makes the truth real.
Very true Pastor Fred. What you have to realize Liz is that if you dwell on your failures and not your future, you keep God from being able to have your heart and life completely. He doesn’t like sin because it takes your heart from Him. He doesn’t like shame for the same reason.
You make a very good point. The only thing I would offer that is different is that though the cross brings us back to zero, the resurrection actual takes us past it. With Christ in hearts and the Holy Spirit working in us and through us, we are able to go way past zero. But, like you said, how close we get to Him determines how far we are able to go.
